The Kiwivolt 16A to 32A CEE industrial extension lead is designed for temporary single phase power setups where equipment uses a 32A CEE / Euro style socket connection but the supply side is limited by a 16A source. It is built as a 16A CEE plug to 32A CEE socket lead for New Zealand generators, food trailers, worksites and mobile equipment.
It includes an inline C16 miniature circuit breaker inside a weather-resistant IP67 style enclosure, with blue CEE / Euro style plug and socket ends and high-visibility orange TRICAB X-90 4mm cable. Standard length options are available from 3m to 30m, and custom lengths or connector combinations can be quoted on request.
Key features
- 16A to 32A CEE / Euro style industrial extension lead.
- Inline C16 MCB for overcurrent protection in a weather-resistant enclosure.
- Blue 3 pin single phase CEE style plug to 32A CEE style socket.
- IP67 style enclosure shown on product housing.
- TRICAB X-90 4mm orange flexible cable for demanding worksite and mobile power use.
- High-visibility cable colour for safer generator, worksite and trailer setups.
- Available lengths: 3m, 5m, 10m, 15m, 20m, 25m and 30m.
- Custom cable length, connector type and protection configuration available by request.
Custom options
KiwiVolt can quote custom industrial power leads for food trailers, generators, worksites, farms, mobile workshops and off-grid setups. Depending on your use case, we can discuss cable length, plug and socket style, MCB rating, enclosure type and cable specification before production.
If your setup is not a standard 3m to 30m lead, contact us with photos of your inlet/outlet, required length, equipment load and site environment. We can help identify whether this CEE lead, a 56 Series lead, or a different custom cable is more suitable.
Common applications
- Generator and temporary power setups with matching CEE style connectors.
- Food trailers, coffee carts and mobile catering power.
- Construction sites, workshops and farm power connections.
- Outdoor events, mobile service units and temporary equipment runs.

Important compatibility notes
- This is a CEE / Euro style industrial lead. It is not an AU/NZ 56 Series lead.
- The inline MCB provides overcurrent protection only and does not replace RCD or site safety requirements.
- Confirm plug type, socket type, current limit, cable length and equipment load before ordering.
- For commercial use, site power or uncertain electrical compatibility, consult a qualified electrician.
FAQ
Can this lead be customised?
Yes. KiwiVolt can quote custom cable lengths, connector combinations, enclosure options and MCB protection setups. This is useful for food trailers, generators, worksites and mobile equipment where a standard lead does not match the installation.
Why does KiwiVolt use TRICAB X-90 cable?
TRICAB X-90 is selected because it is a higher-grade flexible industrial cable option than many generic extension lead cables. For KiwiVolt customers, the key advantages are practical durability, better suitability for demanding mobile and worksite use, strong visibility in orange, and a more professional cable specification for generator, food trailer and temporary power applications.
How is TRICAB X-90 different from cheaper cable?
Cheaper leads often use lighter cable that may be less suitable for repeated dragging, outdoor handling, site conditions or long cable runs. This product uses 4mm TRICAB X-90 cable to provide a stronger, more robust cable specification for industrial and mobile power use. The correct cable choice still depends on equipment load, duty cycle, cable length and site conditions.
Is this a 56 Series lead?
No. This product is for blue CEE / Euro style industrial plug and socket connections, not AU/NZ 56 Series connectors. KiwiVolt can quote 56 Series leads separately if your site uses 56 Series plugs and sockets.
What does the inline C16 MCB do?
The C16 MCB provides overcurrent protection for the lead. It does not replace site RCD requirements or professional electrical advice.
Can it be used for food trailers or generators?
Yes, where the plug and socket style, current rating and load requirements match the equipment. Always confirm compatibility before use.
